Jean Burns Fayé House TourOceanfront Four Bedroom House
Located in Waimea Plantation’s premier beachfront setting, The Jean Burns Fayé House is one of Waimea Plantation’s signature cottages.
The Jean Burns Fay House began as a cabin located high in the plateau of Koke‘—it weathered decades of family escapes into the mountain elements before it was saved and moved down to the ocean and The Cottages. The classic, rustic cabins of Koke‘e are synonymous with our childhood memories of horseback riding, hunting, hiking and lei flower gathering in the mountains of west Kauai.
Today it has been renovated and furnished to reflect its Koke‘e roots as a paniolo’s—Hawai‘ian cowboy’s—natural home. Hunting trophies and sculptures pay homage to the elusive wild boars and goats of Koke‘e. Artifacts, pictures and antiques from the days of simple living are displayed at the kitchen entrance and iterated throughout the house. The comfortable living room looks out towards the ocean and a pune‘e (large setee) invites you to relax with a good book. The oceanfront house includes four unique bedrooms and three bathrooms. Old fashioned Koke‘e cabin-style fixtures and hardware can be found—such as a metal shower with its wide, soft antique shower head. The history of this cottage is so alive that it breathes.
