A stately banyan tree, hand-lashed wedding hale and wide expanse of lawn accent the view of the ocean from the Manager's House. It is a two-story, 4000 square-foot, 5-bedroom & 4-bath oceanfront home in a peaceful plantation community environment. The Master bedroom on the ground floor is well-suited for bridal preparations and includes a bathroom with jacuzzi and full-length mirror. The room has a private entrance towards the ocean and its interior and exterior aspects are ideal for wedding photography. Second floor rooms offer beautiful views of land and sea. Ground floor living extends into large lanai and the spacious lawn. The large garage is often used as a staging area for caterers and other function services.

Waimea Plantation

The property is part of the lands owned by Kikiaola Land Company, Limited, a family company created by the heirs of Kauai sugar pioneer Hans Peter (H.P.) Fayé who came from his native Norway in the 1800's to settle as a young man on Kauai. In addition to planting sugar, H.P. Fayé started a copra plantation and it is on nearly 30 acres among those original trees that Waimea Plantation Cottages is located.

Today there are ironwood, keawe and banyan groves and large expanses of lawn lined with beds of colorful and fragrant tropical flora. The Na Hale O Haku (Manager’s House) and guest cottages are appointed with period furnishings of mahogany, rattan or wicker. Each cottage is unique and has been created or restored to retain historical simplicity.

Location

From Lihue Airport, Waimea Plantation Cottages is just beyond the twenty-three (23) mile marker on Highway 50. It is located on the sunny West Side of Kauai, just an eighth of a mile beyond Waimea town, minutes from the white sands of Kekaha Beach and the gateway to Waimea Canyon and Kokee State Park.
