Hawaii has a delicious cuisine that can be used to add local flavor to any Hawaiian wedding. It often includes a unique blend of American, Chinese, Polynesian and Japanese dishes, as well as dishes made from the natural resources the Hawaiian Islands have to offer. Couples can incorporate these foods into their receptions or turn their entire reception into a traditional Hawaiian Luau.

You can’t have a Hawaiian wedding without fresh, exotic fruits, many of which are native to Hawaii. These may include papaya, mango, grapes, bananas, coconuts, lychees and, of course, pineapple. Couples can serve these fruits alone or incorporate them into a salad. You can also use them to create punch and drink recipes.

When it comes to main dishes, you can’t beat the selection of local, fresh seafood. In Hawaii, fish are plentiful. Dishes containing shrimp, lobster, sea bass, crab-cakes and salmon are all great ideas. Having a sushi bar at your wedding is another great way to incorporate the cuisine of the Hawaiian Islands.

Finally, many people choose to turn their wedding reception into a full-blown, traditional luau. This can be loads of fun for your guests. When we think of luaus, we usually think the kalua pig roasting over an underground oven. If this seems a little extreme for your own wedding, serve some type of pulled pork, ribs or barbecue. Teriyaki chicken is another meal that has long been a tradition at luaus.
If you like what you see, keep going: Luau Time

The Hawaiian Islands are among the most beautiful and amazing places on the planet. Where better to head for a destination wedding? Mention to a soon-to-be-bride the tropical paradise and visions of ocean breezes, swaying palms, and steel guitar serenades dance before her eyes. Then speak of the price and the light fads from her eyes.

While many brides are content to plan their weddings around the shores and expensive hotels of Waikiki Beach on Oahu, the many locations offered by the islands for the most romantic weddings in the world should not be overlooked as many can be very affordable for a bride. Kauai, named the Garden Isle, is a green and lush place to find the romance of old Hawaii.

From the emerald Napli Coast to the beach of Poipu Beach, Kauai offers waterfalls, canyon views, and secluded grottos perfect for weddings big or small. Beaches are always public throughout all of the islands and the park areas are green with grass and flowing palm trees. Want a wedding with one of the most amazing vistas in the world? Plan a wedding on the rim of the Waimea Canyon overlooking the lush valley and the sapphire South Pacific.

Hawaii is definitely one of the most romantic and exciting places to tie the knot. From the perfect beach wedding to a traditional church wedding, Hawaii offers couples wedding options that are unique, romantic and look amazing in pictures. Hawaii also celebrates some local wedding traditions and these can be added to your own wedding to make it all the more special. Here are some of the more popular ones.

The lei exchange
This Hawaiian wedding tradition entails the exchanging of lei’s or circular garlands made of hawaiis beautiful flower that is the symbol of devotion and love.I was looking for more information and found it here. The exchanging of these lei’s signifies the bride and grooms commitment to each other. The bride can also wear Hawaiian flowers in her hair instead of a veil.

The Hawaiian clothing
The best part about Hawaii is the laid back and fun dressing. The bride and groom can actually choose to get married wearing the Hawaiian garb, the groom can wear a flowery shirt with dress pants while the bride can dawn a skirt and a flowery blouse.

Blessing the rings
Another beautiful Hawaiian wedding tradition entails blessing the rings. A Koa wood bowl is dipped into water and a Ti-leaf is dipped into the water. The water is then sprinkled lightly onto the rings, signifying washing away the bride and grooms troubles away and giving them a new, fresh start.

It’s probably safe to say that Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Which is why so many people choose to use one of the Hawaiian Islands as a backdrop for their weddings each year. Hawaii also gives plenty of options so that your wedding can showcase your tropical location as well as your personal style.

The beach wedding is a Hawaii classic. The ocean behind you, the beautiful sky up above, and the sand between your toes. Whether you’ re having a wedding for two or inviting a group, the beach can accommodate your needs. Your planner can set out chairs, and arch, and a runner for the aisle. Nature can be all the other decoration you’ll need.

Overlooks and bluffs can also be the perfect setting for your Hawaiian wedding. The beautiful sky, especially at sunset, the ocean and mountains in the distance, and the rugged brown and green surroundings will photograph beautifully and give your wedding an effortless and unique feel.

Waterfall ceremonies are another beautiful option that require nothing more than for you to show up and say your vows without sacrificing the beauty and quality you want for your big day.

A luau reception is the perfect way to finish off your beautiful Hawaiian island themed wedding. Your guests can take in a show of fire and hula dancers and fill up on delicious Hawaiian fare surrounded by tiki torches sitting family style on the beach.

No matter what your style is, a wedding on any of the Hawaiian isles will be beautiful and just what you’d dreamed of for your big day. Don’t forget leis and an orchid bouquet!

Let’s face it; when you are in Hawaii, there is almost no such thing as a bad photo. It is a beautiful place, and that may even be why you chose to get married there. However, there are a few things you can do to make sure you take home some souvenirs that will remind you of the happiness and beauty of your big day.

Obviously, most of your Hawaiian wedding photos will incorporate the natural beauty of the islands. If you prefer candid photos, have your photographer take pictures of you and your spouse walking along a white sand beach or frolicking in the ocean with your pants legs rolled up and the skirt of your dress held high. For a more unique twist, visit a local cave and take photographs inside or at the entrance. Just remember to schedule your shoot for a time when it is okay to get dirty. You do not want to walk down the aisle covered in sand and saltwater.

If you prefer a photo shoot that is staged, take advantage of the islands’ many flowers, trees and bushes. Use them as a backdrop or even for a prop. Is there anything more beautiful than a blushing bride sniffing a hibiscus flower in full bloom? How about a photo of a groom placing the bloom behind his bride’s ear or sticking it gently into her hair? You can also use leis and even grass skirts to add some local flavor to your photos.
